Quick updates as of Dec'08

Hey all,

Just wanted to update the blog with some latest stuff from my life...

1) Subha and I are blessed with a beautiful baby boy - Nithyanth - he's approaching 1 yr in Feb'09. Exciting! Life changed forever with baby coming along.. all for good!

2) Long awaited promotion at work too materialized! Nothing too exciting there but it does feel good to get recognized:)

3) Schedules have gone for a toss... with baby in, everything revolves around his schedule. And my appreciation for free time has gone up dramatically!

4) We are planning to visit India in January '09. Feels exciting as always! Have a long list of to-dos but hey, India is fun. Cant wait to get there!

5) Recession is hitting hard... I'm hearing soundbytes like 25% headcount cut, 50% slash in bonus etc... Just flowing with the flow, lets take it as it comes!

It's great to be in the holiday season. I get to do stuff at home without the pressure of thinking of next day's office stuff. Really enjoying the week break I took around Christmas!

Mixed bag

Life is a mixed bag... some really exciting stuff and some real ugly or boring stuff. Wonder why we go thru all these, can I have a choice to moderate? hmm.. my blabberings... dont bother! Exciting news is very personal yet glad to share! We are expecting our first baby along our way! Nothing more exciting I can ask for. We are all getting prepped up! Our big scan is just a few days away and getting anxious! We'd know how our baby is doing and even gender... wov, what a miracle! I dont know if there's something that's more miraculous than shaping of a new life. Truly make me feel so humble at God's designs.
Now, I have tell you the ugly or the boring piece... mid year promotions just got announced and I realize all but me who joined around the same time have raisen to next level... feeling like being left out without a good solid understanding of why so. Thats a depressing feeling... God, please help!

An amazing journey so far...

Come to think of it I realize how fast life is flowing from one phase to another. Feels as if I got out of my engineering just a while ago, but knowing I'm just a few months away from finishing 10 years of post-BTech life is just astonishing! Unbelievable! Amazing how time goes... Looking back I feel I should have probably spent more time doing things to enjoy the moment rather than spending bulk planning/worrying about what next. Everyday I see most of us seem like caught up in the ever lasting swirl of what next. Feels so weird... why would someone spend bulk of today's time thinking about tomorrow? And tomorrow's time for day-after? Afterall if I assume one lives 80 yrs and one starts to 'plan' from age 15, its about 24,000 days of total time. And if we assume we spend almost all weekends for pure enjoyment that still amounts to mere 7000 days, hardly 30%, hmm. Well, that's something to think about. Ok, coming back to where I left my story... it has been a pretty busy journey- 3 yr of post-Btech work, 3 yrs of MS, and 3 yrs of post-MS work. All I can recollect as truly enjoyed moments during these 9 yrs are a few simple instances or happenings, mostly accidental than by design/plan. I'd try listing them down some day soon. Right now it's like 3:30 AM, so better I force myself to get some sleep! See ya!
